Amy McKay, Senior Project Designer with Ann P. Stokes Landscape Architects joined the firm in early 2005. She is responsible for conceptual design, fine details and construction administration for a range of award winning residential and commercial projects. She is also one of the firm's lead master planners for campuses such as Virginia Wesleyan College and James Madison University. Ms. McKay is currently focusing on construction administration for the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education designed Silver LEED and the development of Longwood University's campus master plan.
Before moving to Ann P. Stokes Landscape Architects, Ms. McKay was a project manager at the architectural firm Hord Coplan Macht, LLC located in Baltimore, Maryland and was a current development planner for Santa Rosa County located in the panhandle of Florida. Previous projects include the Sellinger School of Business and the complete campus image plan for the Loyola College of Maryland, a master plan for an 18-acre marina resort outside Baltimore on the Chesapeake Bay and a planting design for the Robert Trent Jones golf resort outside Montgomery, Alabama.
She received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1996. Ms. McKay has also received an extensive fine arts education from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, environmental science training from the Johns Hopkins University and is currently working on a Masters degree. Her artistry fosters a deeper level of creativity in the office.
