Ann P. Stokes Landscape Architects, LLC has designed significant projects at major universities and colleges since our founding in 1998; and, prior to that, during Ann Stokes' tenure at Robert A.M. Stern Architects. The college campus offers a unique canvas for landscape architecture that combines a rich architectural heritage, the challenges of urban design (i.e. weaving various systems - pedestrian, vehicular, infrastructural, etc. - into the historic and natural fabric of the campus) and the opportunity to adapt and explore emerging technologies that offer benefits or protection to the environment. Working within strict budget realities, we strive to hone our designs to their essentials, paring away excess without compromising our design intentions. Our mandate is to support and reinforce the innate character of the campus landscape and to advance the mission of each school through excellence in design.
