Sarah Picking, CLA, ASLA, joined the team in 2007. Her project responsibilities include conceptual design, design development, presentation graphics, project coordination, construction detailing and construction administration for residential, commercial, municipal and campus projects.
 

Ms. Picking currently serves as project manager for Norfolk Academy Master Plan Phase 1 Implementation, a complex project that includes renovating and expanding facilities of the school including a new eco-learning courtyard at the Lower School as well as circulation and gathering space enhancements throughout the campus located in Norfolk, Virginia. Previously, she has served as project
manager for the landscape master plan for Sentara RMH, a 254 acre medical campus in Harrisonburg, Virginia, then as project manager for the Funkhouser Women's Center on the Sentara RMH campus. Other projects include the Student Center at Hampden-Sydney College and project manager for the new College of Humanities and Behavioral Science at Radford University. 


Before coming to Ann P. Stokes Landscape Architects, Ms. Picking was a landscape associate at a landscape architecture firm in Norfolk designing a broad range of projects. She was a member of a multi-disciplinary team who developed the parks master plan and construction documents for the Broad Creek public housing redevelopment project. 


Ms. Picking received her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD 2004 and has a special interest in landscape architecture design as a tool for spurring revitalization and reinvestment in communities. Sarah co-taught the second year design studio at Hampton University's Department of Architecture in the Fall of 2006 and 2007, Hampton,
Virginia.
